About Us

About Dental Embassy — Your Braddon Dentist

An independent practice built around one idea: you shouldn’t have to be brave to see the dentist.

Dental Embassy is an independent dental practice on Northbourne Ave in Braddon, Canberra — offering three methods of sedation, in-house oral surgery, and a team that understands dental anxiety. Open six days a week, including Saturdays.

The Practice

An Independent Practice That Does Things Differently

Dental Embassy is an independent dental practice on Northbourne Ave in Braddon, Canberra — recently relocated from our original Lyneham practice to a purpose-fitted space closer to the city. We’re not part of a corporate chain. There’s no remote head office making decisions about your care. The dentists who own the practice are the same ones treating you.

What makes us different comes down to capability. We offer sedation across three methods — nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation — delivered by a dentist with a dedicated university qualification in conscious sedation from the University of Sydney. We also have an in-house surgical dentist with postgraduate training in oral surgery, which means complex work like impacted wisdom teeth and surgical extractions can be handled here, under sedation, instead of being referred out to a hospital or specialist.

“Sleep through it. Wake up done.” isn’t just a tagline — it describes how we actually practise. We built this practice around the idea that fear shouldn’t stop anyone from getting the dental care they need. We’re open six days a week, including Saturdays, because fitting around your schedule is part of reducing the barriers.

Meet the Dentists Behind Dental Embassy

Dr Srikanth Karumiri

Dr Srikanth Karumiri (Sri)

Principal Dentist

GradDipClinDent (Conscious Sedation) — University of Sydney

Sri is the principal dentist and the reason Dental Embassy can offer sedation at the level it does. He completed a dedicated postgraduate program at the University of Sydney in conscious sedation — not a weekend course, but a university qualification that covered all three sedation methods in depth.

He’s calm, methodical, and particularly good with patients who haven’t seen a dentist in years. His approach: understand what you’re afraid of first, then build a plan around it.

Dr Simon Flanagan

Dr Simon Flanagan

Surgical Dentist

Postgraduate qualifications in oral surgery

Simon handles the cases most general practices refer out — impacted wisdom teeth, complex extractions, surgical procedures. His postgraduate training in oral surgery means Dental Embassy can keep complex work in-house, under sedation, in one visit.

His wife Anna Huang is a travelling sedationist who provides IV sedation at the practice — so when you’re having surgical work done, you have a dedicated surgical dentist and a dedicated sedationist working together.

Our Philosophy

“Sleep Through It. Wake Up Done.” — More Than a Tagline

Most dental practices offer nitrous oxide and call it sedation dentistry. We invested in the infrastructure, qualifications, and team to offer all three levels — nitrous oxide for light relaxation, oral sedation for deeper calm, and IV sedation for patients who want to be completely unaware. That infrastructure is the backbone of how we practise, not an upsell bolted on the side.

It also means we won’t judge you. If you haven’t been to the dentist in five years — or fifteen — we’ve seen it before, and we understand why. The last thing you need is someone making you feel worse about it. Your first visit is a conversation, not a lecture.

We try to do as much as possible in one visit so you don’t have to keep coming back. If you need multiple procedures, we’ll combine them under sedation where we can, because fewer visits means fewer opportunities for anxiety to talk you out of the next appointment.

And we’ll give you a clear plan and clear pricing before we start anything. No surprises mid-treatment, no vague quotes. You’ll know what’s happening, why, and what it costs before we pick up a single instrument.
